We take security seriously here at N2WS and are committed to protecting your data —no matter where it lives in AWS. Here’s how:

Availability: N2WS enhances on AWS-native technology, providing data redundancy access AWS regions and different AZs with cross-region, cross-account, and cross-cloud disaster recovery to ensure your data is always easily recoverable in the event of an outage.
Encryption: All communication to and from the N2WS server is encrypted. Also, when connecting to AWS endpoints, N2WS will verify that the SSL server-side certificates are valid. All metadata is stored in an EBS volume and belongs to your AWS account - it can only be created, deleted, attached, or detached from there. On top of that, N2WS allows you to perform DR backups of encrypted resources into a different region or account.
Secure Deployment: N2WS Backup & Recovery launches as an AMI from your AWS account and is protected by security groups that you control and define. Only you have access to your data and it never leaves AWS.
Platform Security: N2WS Backup & Recovery runs on Ubuntu 22 meeting the latest security and compliance requirements. Also existing N2WS users can choose to upgrade the underlying Ubuntu instances to Ubuntu Pro by using AWS License Manager.
User Management: N2WS supports IAM roles and allows you to create multiple users with different access permissions. N2WS also supports using different AWS credentials and MFA (multi-factor authentication) for backup and recovery.
Data Security: All data in transit from/to S3 is transferred and encrypted using a secure communication protocol - HTTPS protocol.
Immutability: Prevent anyone, even the root user, from altering or deleting backups by activating Compliance Mode Immutability. This applies to both long term (S3) or short term (EBS) backups with just the click of a button.
