FAQs
Is N2W a SaaS product? What makes it different?
No, N2W is not a SaaS product but an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution. This allows us to offer a unique blend of benefits and an added layer of assurance for your data security.
You stay in full control of your environment and data:
- N2W is not a hosted service.
- Our virtual appliance runs entirely inside your secure cloud account (AWS or Azure) and is operated exclusively by you.
- We never access your backups, your account, or your data.
Can N2W ever access my backup data?
No. It’s not possible for N2W to access backup data. N2W has no access or control over the instance where the software is installed or over the software itself once deployed.
All backup data remains encrypted and stored within the customer’s secure cloud account. The only data N2W collects is limited metadata, strictly to enable license functionality (e.g., number of protected VMs and accounts). This metadata contains no personally identifiable information (PII).
What compliance standards does N2W meet?
Being located within your own account, N2W directly engages with the AWS infrastructure, safeguarding your data and the underlying infrastructure by making use of the secure and efficient AWS API calls.
AWS conforms to the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and makes available independently audited System and Organization Controls (SOC) reports, carried out by Ernst & Young LLP. Embracing the robust compliance of AWS's cloud platform and routing all transaction through the AWS API, N2W inherits the compliance rating of AWS itself:
Does N2W support government and regulated environments?
Yes. N2W runs fully in AWS GovCloud, meeting FedRAMP, ITAR, and CJIS requirements. It also supports cross-region recovery and reporting for audit-readiness.
How can I obtain more info about N2W’s security compliance and certifications?
N2W is independently ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified, demonstrating our commitment to the highest standards of information security. Customers and auditors can contact us directly at customer.success@n2ws.com to request a copy of our certificate.
In addition, because N2W runs natively inside your AWS or Azure environment and uses only secure API calls, it inherits the compliance posture of those cloud platforms. For further details, you can review:
